I was hit by a truck while riding my bicycle and a truck hit me 7/28/2018. Causing 22 broken bones and brain injury i was in a coma for 10 days. Is there a limit that i can sue the person for. I was a model and actor this accident has hindered me where i can not work. This accident changed my life and caused me to have to move to MA to live with my mother where she has been taking care of me. The person who hit me not only caused me physical harship but also financial and emotional harship where as i cant work. I have issues on my entire left side and i am no longer able to drive. Can you let me know what my options are and what steps would need to be taken. I know i need a good lawyer but i want to know what can be done to get compensated for all the damages that this person caused me and how much can i go after her for.
Your questions and concerns are all valid. Assuming that the driver who hit you is insured, you can make a claim with her insurance company and seek as much as her policy limits (whatever they may be). Sometimes, the at-fault party might even make a personal contribution towards your claim. That's, basically, the short answer. You really need to consult with a personal injury attorney for more information. Most, if not all, of us offer free consultations. So, you have no reason not to call right now.
You should make an appointment to speak with a personal injury lawyer right away. The amount of compensation to which you may be entitled will depend on several factors, which are too complicated to discuss in this forum.
Your question landed in the workers’ comp section of AVVO. WC is for on the job injuries and you don’t mention that you were on the job when this accident happened. Therefore, I’m moving your question over to the personal injury section. Be aware that there is only a limited time for you to make your claim and you may be nearing that time limit.
