Hi,

My school recently imposed a strict set of rules and requirements for all "Greek Life Parties." This is basically a way for the school to impede the party scene but it is only targeted at fraternities and sororities. There are no such rules imposed on "Non Greek" parties. I feel like they are discriminating against a certain group of people (Greek Affiliates). Is it legal for the school to do something like this?

I enrolled in a LVN-BSN bridge program 2 years ago. At the time, they were accredited in California. However, this past year, they are no longer accredited in California due to losing their contract in a California based university as well as having no clinical sites. I've tried since April to get out of the program, but with each representative that I speak with, they disregard my request to drop the program and continue to encourage me to "continue the program". Though they have no accreditation, they now have clinical sites that are located in Sacramento and Long Beach, but I reside in San Diego. I was assured when I first enrolled that San Diego sites would be plenty to do my clinical portions.

Is there any way I can get out of this? I would like to get my money back or if not, at least stop paying in which will not affect my credit score.

I am a part time teacher at a private school. The office there registered me (without my knowledge) to a seminar that takes place on a day that I am not working for the school. Do I have the option of not attending? Should I get paid if I attended? Is there any law that I can show to the office for my reimbursement?

I am a teacher currently working under a 10 month contract but wish to break the contract at semester. The contract states that the maximum financial penalty for breaking a contract is 1/12 of the annual salary, but only if 30 days written notice is not provided. This is not a problem; the questions I have concern final payout of the contract. Provided that the contract includes a 12-month, monthly payment for work (despite it being a 10 month contract), would the district have a financial obligation to pay a proportionate amount of the salary that would have been provided during the two summer months in which no work is done? In other words, if I work for 5 months (1/2 the contract), would they be responsible for paying me 50% of the contract or only the monthly payment for each month worked (5/12, not 6/12)? Also, given the contract includes sick days, would payment of these sick days being included in final severance if the contract is breached? Or would the sick days (proportionately or completely) be revoked and/or subject to repayment for any used? Thank you for your help in this matter.

In PA, what is the length of time that a Private Student loan stays on your credit report?

My private student loan defaulted and than there was a court judgement. Now it appears as "Closed" on my credit report. What is the legal length of time it can remain on my credit report?

my school has told us students that each of us needs to pay 10% tuition out of pocket and due to the fact that us poor students can pay that, the school is having us cash two checks totaling a little over 1000$ out of our student assistance fund to return to the school. Now im not sure if this is legal or proper by any means as i dont see why it wouldnt have been calculated up front. it seems as if this school is out for profit and has found some loophole to score more money from students saf funds. plz help me clear this issue up asap. we r all poor and i believe being takin advantage of.

What is the purpose of having laws in our society today?

--We need law in society because if there weren't any then people would go on killing sprees, and do all kinds of other things. The purpose is to control the citizens.

--We need laws and means to enforce them because we are on earth, not in Heaven.
