i lived with a friend with no rental agreement. i moved out and now he refuses to let me obtain my remaining personal effects until i pay another month rent. he is also threatening to sell my property march 1st. what can i do?

Landlord/Tenant

I moved to Arizona from South Dakota in Dec, of 2005 to be with my sister during cancer treatment. At that time I informed my landlord that I would not be able to pay my lot rent on my trailer for a few moths, but that when I started work I would make double payments, to which he agreed. Over the last year, I have been sending payments when I was able, which he accepted. I recently in the last Month sent him $600. I have since eceived notice that he will not accept anymore payment and I taking possession of my home for past due rent. Can he do this after having agreed to and accepted payments although not consistently?

Who should pay?

I had to get a part replaced on my car. I purchased it for $60. It was an easily replaceable part, so my boyfriend offered to put it in. In the process, he dropped one of the two screws it needed to be held in place down into the framework of the car. I then purchased a magnetic device to retrieve the screw for $6.50. He couldn't find the screw with that, so we had to go to a dealership to purchase another one, as normal auto supply stores did not carry it. The new screw came in a set of $3 for $27. He wanted me to pay for everything: the part itself, the magnet and the new screws, but I do not believe I should be responsible for paying for anything but the part because he is the one who offered to replace it and he lost the screw. What would be the legal solution to this problem? Who would pay for what?

I have been suspended for 3 days

until my boss gets back from

vacation. I have been waiting in

today to decide my fate. I work in a

restaurant and I got into a dispute

with another employee, she started

it, and it is claimed that I cursed her

and a guest heard it, which is

completely false. They have already

taken me off the schedule and

haven't even heard my side of the

story. She hasn't been punished at

all... I am facing demotion or

termination... and I have been off of

work all weekend. Nothing has

happened to her. Is this

discrimination?

Hi - myself and a colleague are being investigated by our company legal, Security & HR dept. We expect them to call us into a review in next 24-48 hours where it is likely they may terminate our employment. We want to ensure we are taking appropriate legal steps to ensure we are legally represented and ensure a fair & equitable agreement is made. Company is HP who are nervous of any publicity and we believe they will be keen to negotiate a fair settlement of this issue. i wrote a recipt for a truck (100$)the price was set at 3900$ the buyer knows the truck is not mine i show him the title was on my brothers name but i sign the recipt on my name for 100$( i did not put a time frame for the fixing the truck is broke) i did not put a vin number or plates not even his last name now he says this recipt is a contract and he is going to a small claims court it is posible how my brother can keep his truck? he do not want to sell it anymore?

Statute of Limitiations

An original contract has been breached and the statute of limitations will expire in 2 weeks. The ''defendant'' has asked me to write a new contract to allow a few more months to pay his debt. If he defaults on the ''new contract'' do I have standing to sue and will the statute of limitations extend from the ''new contract''? Thank you

I have a dispute in a stock purchase agreement. This agreement includes a clause to settle via mediation and arbitration. There is a promissory note addendum to the agreement that is unclear as to resolution under default. Do the terms to the master agreement to use med/arb flow into the addendum? Or can it be pursued in a court of law?

Status Conference in Civil Case

A status conference happened on Feb. 17 and we found out that the other sides (the defendant) attorney didn't attend. Will he be in trouble?

quit claim deed questions

I have a friend who is depressed and possibly bi-polar and delusional. After some time in a psych ward and getting the proper meds, she asked me if she could put her house in my name so that her sister couldn't take it from her and that she was going to will it to me upon her death anyway. So we went to the county clerk and did a quit claim deed to put the house in my name. A month or so later she went off her meds, and told me that a friend of hers who is a ''psychic'' told her that ''a friend who is helping you keep your house is going to kill you''. I an fairly certain this is a delusion. After that she tells me that she wants the house back in her name. I agreed. So we go back to the county clerk to do another quit claim deed where she proceeds to tell them that I forced her to put the house in my name, that she wasn't in her right mind when she originally signed the house over to me. So I decided that I wasn't going to just go thru with it, that I would get some advice first. I need to know can I legally keep the house and evict her and how? Or should I just force her to hire a lawyer to get the house back? I don't care if i get the house, i just want to know what i could be facing

Renting a dance hall with no contract

Can I receive all the money I have given minus the deposit? I rented a dance hall for $750 for April 4, 2009. I had given a $100 deposit to reserve the date. There was no contract signed. In December I gave $500 and in February I went to see the hall and there was some remodeling going on. I was not satisfied with the outcome and wanted to cancel my reservations there. He said because of Texas law he can only return 50% which is $300 back because it was close to the event date. I wanted my $500 back because he did not notify me of the remodeling and there was no contract signed. What can I do?

My ex and I purchases a vehicle in Jan of 2004 and we split up in Feb. of 2005. I took the truck when I left and I had the truck till the end of Dec. 2008 when he came over when I was on Vacation and took it out of my driveway. Both names are on the title. Who is more likely entitled to the truck when it goes to court?

disinterment form.

I'm having trouble getting a disinterment form filled by the coroner where my brother died 34 years old. I live in CA and all this happened in new york making it difficult. The coroner has not returned messages, emails etc., all this since september 08. I need help.

Small action claim

So there's someone threatening to file a small claim action suite against me for urinating on a computer. This happened at a frat party where no one saw this happen, and I'm not completely sure myself, but he assumed it was me because I slept on his couch for the night. There were probably about 300 people there that night, all who could have done it. He himself and his girlfriend where also in the room but were both drunk themselves. So, he's basically going off propable cause. How would any of this hold up in court?

sex tape.

when i was 16 i was coerced into

making a sex tape with another 16

year old. you can clearly see on the

tape that i was under the influence

of alcohol and that i was more than

underage. that tape has ruined my

life, i had to change school and

explain it to my family. there were

never any charges pressed. i am

now 20 years old and i want this

tape back because it still haunts me

to this day. i did some research and

found out that it is now considered

child pornography.. is this true? and

what can i do to get this tape back?

divorce

I want to divorce my husband i dont want any child support, alamony but i want my name to come off of his morgage and his car loan. can you please help me find an answer at this matter?
