4th Degree assualt

I got into a fight with a young lady. It was at her apartment building, my friends were with me, but did not get involved. She went and got a summons draw saying that my friends and I attacked her and beat her to the ground. Which is not true she hit me first.I hit her bacj and then we started fighting.Now I am getting charged with 4th degree assualt and Traspassing. What should I do?

You should retain the best criminal defense lawyer you can, as soon as possible.

Felony assault is a serious crime, with huge, negative implications on your civil rights and your future employment and annual income levels.

While it sounds like you may assert a "self-defense" defense, you and your lawyer will need to consider the "duty to retreat" and seek witnesses and evidence to support the self-defense claim.
