Disabled persons
My son has aspergers disorder a high functioning autism. The postal Service is requireing him to file Femla papers. I can't figure out why. He will be no different in 3 months than he is today. His disorder does not change. The only acommodation he needs is a set work schedule of 5 6 hour days in a weak. His stats are good in every other way. If he is put on Femla is this the first step in fireing him?

If your son is going to be out of work because of his condition, then the employer is well within its rights in requiring this. Generally, the employer should not be using this as a tool to justify a termination as it does not support that type of issue. The only likely way this type of information could be turned into a termination issue would be if the medical statement was that your son could not perform any work at all.
