does a uniformed police officer
does a uniformed police officer have to give you their name and badge number while on duty when asked by law? also when you make a formal complaint against a police officer and you feel that you were given the runaround by their supervisor where can you persue this higher?
Re: does a uniformed police officer
Police departments almost always have citizen complaint departments or specialists - often civilian employees - whose job it is to hear and investigate complaints. The easiest way to find these departments is to do an on-line search through the city or county Web site and then the department's site, but a few phone calls after carefully checking the government pages of the phone book should also be effective.
