I want to fire my lawyer
I was involved in an auto accident. I was the driver of my vehicle and not-at-fault. I conversed with my attorney twice in a seven month period. I called today to check the status of my case and his assistant made me aware that they had settled my case. The settlement amount was an insult, considering my injuries - and the lawyer didn't include several bills of high concern. I didn't agree to the terms and I want to know if I can fire my lawyer without being held responsible for payment of services rendered.
Re: I want to fire my lawyer
Beware of taking any action based on a message board like this, where only
few facts are stated. The only reasonable way to resolve it is to first see a second reputable lawyer who can look at ALL facts. At that time, the necessary action can be taken. Just as a reputable lawyer would not file a lawsuit without all facts, one should not file a bar complaint without as many facts as possible.
