I have a bench warrent out for me in NJ for contempt of court. I have moved to CT and want to get a drivers licence. Will this be checked on, and/or prevent me from switching my NJ licence to CT?

yeah, its possible. Why not just take care of the situation? If you get an attorney to help you with this, you may not even have to come back to the state.
