legal ethics

Is it ethical (legal) for an employee of a law firm who is not an attorney to be paid a certain percentage of the attorney's fees charged on certain legal work done by the firm?

The Virginia Rules Of Professional Conduct generally prohibit an attorney from splitting or sharing his/her fees with a nonattorney.
