Lis Penden
I am taking my former landlord to small claims court in order to get back my security deposit. In the meantime he has listed the property for sale. Can I file a lis penden to put a lien on the property before my court date? Can a lis penden be used in small claims court?

Apprently not, unless the lis pendens
derives from a pending suit which relates to the sale of the property and not merely based upon a totally unrelated (to the sale)claim involving a tenant's security deposit.
