medical restriction

I have a medical restriction that allows me to work 4 hours per day, the remainder of my shift is covered by FMLA. I have been told by my employer that if I do not work the 4 hours I will not be paid for the remainder. I cannot even take the 4 hours as unpaid time. Is this legal?

Re: medical restriction

If the approved FMLA leave is only for four hours per day, supported by appropriate medical certification, and the employer's expectation is that you will work the remaining four hours, I see nothing unreasonable nor illegal under the FMLA in what your employer has allegedly told you as described in your inquiry.
