My brother had a stroke from a blood clot. He went to the ER when he started developing symptoms.

He had no tests and was told he had a virus and was sent home. We believe this was because he has no health insurance. Within 24 hours he had full left sided paralysis. I know if tpa is given in the first few hours of stroke symptoms it can greatly reduce the effects of a blood clot in the brain. Now my brother is permanently disabled. Do we have any legal recourse against the hospital since he could not pay for the treatment?

Claims against emergency rooms are hard to prove because you have to show gross negligence. You should contact a lawyer who handles medical malpractice claims. Try one of the following:

Micky Das (713) 739-1900

Paula Sweeney (214) 523-8800
