Used car buyer protection
A month ago, I purchased a used vehicle (1999 Subaru Outback) from used vehicle dealer. The dealer assured me that if there were any power train problems, they would be covered under the warranty. Less than two weeks after the purchase, the transmission went out. The warranty company contract claims to cover all internally lubricated parts within the gear case, and torque converter, however they refuse to honor the warranty, claiming there were trace amounts of water in the transmission. The dealer has refused to offer any solutions. Do I have a possibility of getting some relief either by getting my money back for the lemon vehicle or requiring the warranty company to cover the repairs?

Your best recourse probably lies with an action to enforce the warranty, but further invesigation is likely in order as to the substance of the warrantor's claims.
