At a drinking establishment, I asked a highly intoxicated girl if she was okay (I am a married female there with my husband). It was obvious that she was offended that I insinuated that she was not "okay." The lights were on and ready to close with people standing around. I whispered to her, not to embarrass, that she shouldn't drive and should get a cab. She said something smart and my husband and I walked to the door. She kept yelling and followed us out. My husband and I both told her to get away. She then said, "She would follow me home and kill me." I turned around and pointed my finger at her and told her to get away from me. My finger touched her tooth. The bartender and owner came out and told her to get inside and told me to just leave. She said that she was going to call the police that I hit her. I knew I hadn't hit her, but was clear not to threaten to follow or kill me. Did I commit a crime?

While, there may be a prosecutor or two that would charge, it does not appear that you committed a crime because even if you hit her tooth, you were acting self defense. If you have not talked to the police since this happened, then I wouldn't worry about it. To be safe, however, it can't hurt to talk to an attorney in your area so that you are better protected.
