I rent a room and work in the service industry. I have currently been put on hiatus by my job that is using a skeleton crew. I was presented on Monday that I and my roommates must vacate in 5 days, however my roommate said he spoke to the landlord and that we all have until the end of the month. My industry is not hiring right now. I've read that there is a suspension on all evictions proceedings and standing eviction orders. I'm just curious if that applies to me.
Please help.
You can keep checking online regarding the status of evictions in New York. As for now, all evictions are not proceeding forward due to the Coronavirus.
All eviction courts in the entire State are shut down. No eviction proceedings are active. Your landlord could demand you move. It isn't an eviction if you leave your home on your own. But if you decide to stay there is no lawsuit the landlord could start that would end with the eviction.
OK? There are no eviction proceeding possible in the entire State.
