Would the FOIA response provide I94 number? Then, I might wait for the response and file I 130 without blank spaces.
While you could certainly do as you are suggesting, retaining an immigration attorney to handle your case is a much wiser use of your time. You should focus on retaining experienced immigration counsel, especially with immigration expected to become much more restrictive now that Trump is President. Trying to handle any immigration matter yourself is unwise. You really need to retain immigration counsel and have the attorney handle this. Do not attempt to do anything yourself. Only an Immigration attorney has the expertise to properly fill out immigration forms and put together the right package of documents and other evidence to support the immigration benefits you are trying to obtain. However, especially in these turbulent times, you really need to retain an immigration attorney. This is not a do-it-yourself project! You should focus on retaining experienced immigration counsel, especially now that immigration is much more restrictive since Trump is now President.
This is an Immigration question, not Litigation. I have moved it accordingly.
FOIA requests should really be posted in the Government section on Avvo as it's an agency response issue, not necessarily a litigation issue. This would become a litigation issue if they refused to respond and you had to commence a lawsuit to force a FOIA response.
