I have been married for 2 1/2 years. My husband has a 7 year old daughter with another woman. She recently moved to Austin with her boyfriend and will not respond to our calls or text or let us have any contact with her. I've been in her life for 4 years and love her like my own. I also have one with her Dad she is 2. She hasn't seen her sister in months and that's also sad. What can we do? I know he has rights? Do I too?

Dad needs to take a certified copy of the court order to a family law attorney. The longer he waits the worst it will be. He should act immediately.

Without seeing his paperwork I cannot address his rights.

If mom violated a residency restriction, dad might be able to gain legal custody.

As a step-parent you have no legal rights.
