I purchased a house for my mother while I was still in the military. I was to be the sole owner/borrower while my mother would live in the house and pay the utilities. I was told that my mother would have to be listed as a co-owner/borrower since I would not be living there on a regular basis. I have since retired from the military and was living in the house with my mother until she died in 2007. She did not have a will. How do I now become the sole owner or would the estate go through probate with my bothers and sisters as my mothers heirs?

You and your siblings would become co-owners of your mother's portion of the house.
