I’m a green card holder, currently on extension (i have a travel document) which expires end of May. With the current situation (covid-19) the flights are getting canceled where i reside and i have a baby with me so its not safe to travel during the peak pf virus. Is it possible to request or appeal to USCIS to allow me a grace period to travel after my travel document expires? Pls advise what options do i have if i don't make it in time to USA. Thanks
Generally, one should be admitted despite an expired reentry permit or green card.
Worry not - under the current pandemic scare disaster and the travel bans all over you will not face any problems if return at pretty much any later date after your travel document expires, within "reasonableness" of course.
Under the current situation you will not have any problems if you return after the in a reasonable time after the reentry permit expires.
