Felonies and school

If I live in illinois and have 2 felonies i got from robbing cars, is it possible for me to go to college or a trade school or anything like that? i'm 21 years old and got the felonies a couple years ago.

im graduating tomorrow and i think the school is goin to have me sign some papers concerning money but they didnt offer everything that they said they would i think there asking for too much money for the school what should i do

School responsiility for child's safety

A 16 year old was assaulted by fellow students across the street directly in fron of the fron door of his High School. He suffered severe injuries and needed to be medevaced by helicopter. The school board did nothing despite witnesses statements and even allowed the main agressor to go back to school. The court only gave this agressor 1 year probation. The victim's parents could find no remedy in criminal court and it appears that the parents of the two 16 year olds who assaulted the victim have nothing that they can be sued for. My question is, can the school district be held liablle for what happened? How far is from the school facilities does lresponsibility for a student's safety extend.? Are there any other remedies that can be pursued? Ther victim's parents owe tens of thousands for the medevac and surgery. The victim has permanent physical and psychological damage.

private school board

This is concerning the board of a

small private school. The members

apply for membership and are voted

in by the others on the board.

Currently there are 4 members.

There is no general election of board

members. My questions: (1) Is it

permissible for spouses to serve on

this type of board? The couple in

question have children in the school.

(2) Fairly often, issues are voted

upon outside of the meeting by

means of email. Recently, the budget

was circulated and members were

asked to approve it or not. There had

been considerable discussion of the

budget at the previous meeting. As a

result, the budget was revised and

circulated for approval. Is this legal,

or is it a problem concerning the

Brown Act (about which I know only

a little bit) or something else? Thank

Need to know if it is also illegal for a tech school to use students ss#s to get money from the state. when they cannot read or write the english language. All text at this school is in english. All financial Aid forms are in english only. 137 students have filed complaints. Need help!!

IEP and joint legal custody

I have a son about to enter 2nd grade next week. I'm dreading dealing with his ''team'' this year because of all the problem we've had with them in the past two. Currently, dad and I share joint legal custody, but son lives with dad during the school year. What rights do I have in Massachusetts in regards to receiving information regarding meetings, evaluations, and questions that the school has. Although I have asked several times in the past, it has been denied to me by one particular person on his team. Are there any laws I can quote? Thanks for the help

School tuition

My son was enrolled in a private high school but 2 weeks before school started I informed the school he would be transferring out and will not attend this year. They require that parents start making payments 2 months before school starts, which I've already paid. Are they legally allowed to keep the money I have paid into the tuition?

problems at kids school

my son was touched by other boy in school and they have been using this boy to perform sex act with other boys to stop parent from complaining about safe problems.attempted kidnapping,

kids getting hurt by older kids, no supervision of the kids on the play area or in the classroom. Member of PUSD maked comments that he can hire a investigates to follow me also told members of the ymca to help him or there job would be terminated .need some one to help me gett his story out and justices for my kids.

academic probation

I have been put on academic probation and then dismissed because I was late by one week for my tuition (this is a career school in OR). Is this legal? Can you point me in a direction to get a document to challenge this probation in an appeals process I am involved in.

School Problem

I live in the state of Louisiana. Is it legal for a principal to question my son about where he lives without a parent being present? And also expelling him from school without any notices by mail, email, or phone. Decision made strictly on my child's explanation and no parent present or notified of concerns. I have papers signed by the judge of the school's parish for him to attend this school. We live outside of the parish.

too poor for school supplies

Aren't public schools required by law to provide whatever teachers require for their classwork? And can the school personel keep writing up my kids for not dressing out in P E or bringing notebooks and such when I am not able to buy any supplies for my kids until at least the end of September, when I get my first full paycheck since May? My rent is half of my pay, and we struggle as it is. Half the time we do not have presents on Christmas. I feel that I am being harrassed for being poor. Thank you for your comments and help.

My kids attended private school for the past few years. I am unable to send them this year due to the econony. But because I owe the school a balance they will not release the kids school records so I can register them in public school. can they do that?

Can a private school hold records and not release them to another school, if I am not up-to-date on my tuition? Is their some sort of court ruling indicating such an action?
