I went to a college for medical assisting and I get assigned an externship site by the school and have to complete 6 weeks of service to graduate... But the site is horrible. They don't clean or sanitize and I fear for my health. They scream at each other and patients and make co workers cry. I've been slapped on the back because of a disagreement... I've told my school all this since day one, and they said they would look into it. It's now been nearly 3 weeks, and nothing has been done. They are forcing me to stay at this site and deal with this abuse or I will not graduate. I paid over $13,000 for this training! What should I do??

If a school owes you tip money, and they ban you from returning can they keep your money.

My daughter went to school to become a message therapist, they owe her $245.00, and know because of something posted on facebook, and not by her, they will not pay her the money owed for tips she received while doing messages.

Is that legal, it sounds like theft of services to me.

How should we handle this?

Can I sue a private college (more of a tech college) for responsibility of a teacher's practices in class in which she gave 100% for a quiz if you failed it and gave her "coke rewards?" I blew the whistle because this was just wrong--she was essentially giving grades for money. She found out it was me who blew the whistle, told the class I was the one who ruined their "privileges" and they turned on me. This is a tech school that has some rough types attending. If I'd known then (when I signed up) what I know now, I would never have enrolled. I'm $15,000 in debt with school loans, no certificate of completion and cannot go back to class. I was 5 1/2 months into a 9 month course.

I appealed a grade and won. The school is refusing to post the change to the grade because I graduated a week after the grades were due and they say that the grades are "frozen" now. There is nothing in the academic handbook that states this practice. The grade is permanently on my transcripts to be forwarded to other schools or employers. Is there anything that can be done legally to combat this?

About 13yrs ago I went to a school that was shut down due to fraud.I tookout a student loan w/Sallie Mae they were paid the money I owed by thier insurance company but they still sold my loan. Now I have the Dept. of Education calling wanting me to pay the loan back is this legal how can they ask for money on a loan that was paid off already PLEASE HELP. I don't know if i should pay this or not

i have been going to edison community college and the problem is that the teach did not what she was teaching and the dean had came to the classroom and said if there is a problem and you would to get out the classroom come see. so i did that and i went to all the deans and still have not been resolved. then when one person say i'm going to call you back they tell another dean to call me back and not the person that told me they was to going to call back. so what should i do i have been through all the commands they told me to do

I was given wrong information about a program at a university from an advisor who is no longer at the universtiy and ended up getting a degree in the wrong field that I was going for. Could I sue for being giving false information and wasting two years of my time pursuing a degree in this specific field that I did not want to pursue?

I am a teacher and have a former student who is considered homeless. I am a single father of 2 sons...only one lives at home, but for the last 4 years I have considered this girl my daughter. She has no stable home and wants to move in with me and my son,who is a sophomore and like a brother to her, while she attends college . The problem is some people think this would look inappropriate. Remember she is 18, and no longer a high school student. We have a father/daughter relationship and we have her mother's blessing...her dad isn't around much. I know members of the community/school board may have issues with this due to my marital status. I can handle the snide comments, I just want to protect her and my job...after all she's my "daughter" and dads protect their kids.

I am a teacher and have been getting male students with hair so long it covers their eyes. They are falling asleep and I can't see their eyes. I feel it's very disrespectful and I'd like to make a policy in my room that keeps the hair out of students' eyes. Either tie it back or put a headband on. Can I do this? Or does it go against "free will" to wear their hair how they want?

I am being withdrawn from my technical school ( Heritage Institute Jacksonville, FL)due to attendance in which they cannot prove my absences other than what was entered into a computer. Which this past month it was proven by the front office that my attendance was entered incorrectly. I just need to know if I have a leg to stand on if i decide to sue them. For the school to allow me to complete my 2 remaining classes? I was supposed to graduate in October of this year. Last thursday I was told by one of there employees I was fine and i would be able to continue my courses. Monday morning I received a phone call by another employee who stated since I already spoke to someone Thursday then what he told me was correct and again I was fine to return to my courses. Monday afternoon another employee called me stating they were starting the withdrawal paperwork. Please help

at my child school they have a mandatory uniforms or you can purchase uniforms without school logo on it. or parents can opt on uniforms but they have to follow the general dress code.i opt because i can not afford uniforms. my question is i want on record at school the reason that i opt on uniforms, as a parent can i have that put in writing to have on school record?

We live in Brookline,MA. My daughter is in the 7th grade and is being bullied online by some classmates. I have brought this to the attention of the school and am being put off. The emails have included such things as " Your fat, your ugly, you smell like a dumpster, nobody at school likes you are a loser. Don't threaten to kill yourself because we know you won't do it. etc." I have the names of the bullies in print ( proof of who they are]. I was told that maybe my daughter has brought this on herself. I was ignored for days after calling and emailing the principal and assistant principal. Today I brought in the printed copies and was told they had no time to speak to me and whatever was done regarding this was confidential and I could not be informed. My questions are is this confidential or since I am the mother of the victim and a taxpayer who has had three children who have attended this public school, the right to have some information about what has been done to stop this? Also, what else can I do if nothing is beingdone to stop this. Thank you. Liane

I think that my son is a victim of harrassement at school by his teacher. He is in 6th grade and his teacher called him a liar yesterday because she says he did not put his assignment where he said put it. He started to get upset because she did in front of the entire class. He asked her if he could step outside and take a moment to call me (his mom) and she would not allow him to do so. She then began to push him on what was wrong with him and asked if him and his best friend where having problems, he said no, then asked if he was having problems at home, he said no, then asked him if he took his medicine this morning (he is ADHD), he said yes, then she asked him if his parent were fighting, he said no. Then she said well, your family does not have a lot of $ so that must be why your parents are arguing - he then screamed no at her (out of frusteration) and she then told him he needed to take a minute and leave the classroom. While he was out of the classroom, she leaned over to his Best Friend (who was waiting on my son so they could continue their partner project) and told his Best Friend that if he wanted another partner, she would understand because my son is selfish. Now, I have not verified any of this through the teacher. I am so upset that I feel like I would lose my cool with her and have requested a meeting with her and the vice principal of the school. I left two voicemails and sent an email. The VP decided that she would email and said she could schedule a meeting if that is what I wanted but that it did not sound like the teacher's normal behavior and wanted to know if he had issues all year or just now. Anyways, my concern and question is - if the school does not do anything about this situation - is there any legal recourse. My son is 11 years old and I truly feel that she emotionally attacked him. When I picked him up from school, he got in the car and just started crying and shaking. He was up all night throwing up but went to school anyways this morning. Maybe I am a bad Mom for telling him that he has to face his fears but I just did not want him to think it was okay to run away from his problems. Thank you so much for help.

I was presented a full 4-year tuition scholarship for $67,888 by a fraternity 3 years ago. I was presented with a enormous presentation check and my family and I had been showcased at their annual year that year. Yet, I have not been awarded any money from that organization to date. I have funded my education through other scholarships, but I have not stopped contacting the fraternity and their on campus representative (a major school official also) about the matter, only to be ignored. What are my options, if any, to further pursue the funding of my education this last year as I prepare to graduate in the spring?
