Business Insurance Claim

I have Nationwide Insurance. I had a break-in into my company van, which sits in my drive, on October 14, 2008. The thief stole approx. $3000.00 worth of A/V equipment and computers. The insurance claims agent sent me a packet to fill out, including a waiver to allow them total and unfettered access to ALL my financial records with ALL my financial institutions, including banking, electric co., gas co, mortgage co., savings, telephone co., credit bureaus, other insurance companies, etc. I do not feel comfortable giving them this complete access to my financial life. What can I do?

Re: Business Insurance Claim

Refuse...they are making you a suspect..and asking for information to privileged info..Tell your agent and the claims agent that if they insist, you must hire a lawyer and expect them to pay the lawyer...Unfortunately there is fraud and the insurer takes every opportunity to overreach...
