End Of Child Support Payments

When a Child turns 18 what must a parent do in the State of Maryland to stop child Support Payments? What is considered as secondary education by the state of Maryland? Should I retain an attorney to get the payments stopped or is it something that is very customary?

Re: End Of Child Support Payments

If your payments are being automatically deducted from your paycheck, you will need to file a motion to terminate or get your ex to sign a consent to do so, if that would be acceptable to your payroll office. Your child is entitled to payments beyond his/her 18th birthday if they are still in a high school or equivalent program leading to a graduation process, up until their 19th birthday.
