I am currently in a chapter 13 and behind on my mortgage. I was told by my lender in December that they could not talk to me until they filed the paperwork for a relief of stay. She assured me it was in process and they were filing this. So I waited and finally the hearing for the relief was on May 25, But on May 14 the Loan was sold to Fannie Mae my credit report shows this and that I Owe 0 to my Lender. I know that loans are sold all the time but what happens with the relief of stay motion? Can I contact the new lender and will they talk to me? Or will I have to wait for them to get a relief of stay?

Thanks

No one here can possibly answer you as no one has read the motion, your plan, or your schedules.

Chapter 13 is highly complex so I am hoping and assuming you did not do something foolish and file pro se, as such cases usually become disasters. The fact you don't understand the steps now shows that.

Assuming you have a lawyer, why have you not called him? He has a duty to advise you throughout your plan. If you don't have one, retain one. It's necessary.
