inventions and discoveries
I had a subcontract to develop some software. I am currently working on another version of the software. I believe the previous contract would not be in effect since I had to submit another proposal and due to the fact that it's being completely redone in a different programming platform and language. There was language in the previous contract that said that they would own any ''inventions and discoveries'' I made while working on the previous project. Should I be able to retain copyright on the current version since we haven't actually signed a new contract? They seem to think our original agreement stands. Also, how do ''inventions and discoveries'' relate to programming?
Re: inventions and discoveries
I would need to review contract to advise you. This would be billable.
You may not want to proceed in the absence of clarity on this issue. COpyright infringement cases are expensive.
