off of work on illness

If off of work on an illness. Can privileges be taken away when you return to work. If not, what law is this under?

If the illness qualifies a serious helath condition, and you and you employer are covered by the FMLA (1 yr on job + 1250 hrs in last 12 months; and the employer has at least 50 employees within 75 miles of the worksite), then you should be protected from retaliation or coercive acts. Its certainly worth giving the details to an attorney.
