Re: proper spelling

God, no. No words should be written all in caps. To write to Judge John Smith, write like this:

The Honorable John Smith

Pretend County Court

etc.

RE: Whatever you're writing about

Dear Judge Smith:

Blah blah blah.

If you need to use "your honor" in the letter, you can use "your Honor." Or, you can refer to the Court.

Now, please be aware that if you have a case in front of this judge, you should not be writing a letter to him or her.

You can write a legal document and submit it for filing. If you do so, you must send a copy to the other party or the other party's attorney, if he or she has one.

Good luck.
