Re: work/truck injury

Actually you have several options, some may be applicable, some not, depending on a more detailed factual explanation. If the employer has 3 or more employees it is required to carry worker's compensation coverage. If it does not, you can still get WC benefits through a claim that can be enforced against the employer through court action. You may also be able to sue the person/entity who caused the truck to injure you under certain circumstances. There also may be a product liability claim present. You will need a lawyer to sort this out. Do NOT try to do this yourself. You have a complicated case. You need a lawyer who understands WC law, insurance law, tort law and product liability. Investigate whom to get as your attorney carefully because there are not that many around who are experienced in all of the above. Also, I cannot overstate the importance of getting first rate medical care. You absolutely have to have that to get as well as you can. You will also need medical proof about your injury, the severity of it and any disability you are left with as a result of this. Good luck.
