Worker's Comp Cut

I was working one night, cleaning the grill at work and a stack of dishes fell off the rack and I put my hand up to protect my face. I ended up getting cut, and left early so I could get stiches.

I ended up getting two stitches in my finger. I was told not to get it wet, and not to use it. When I returned to work, I told them this, and I was still made to work (minus dishes), but then I started to lose hours, and they became harder on me to the point I had to quit.

At the time they said bring them the doctors bill, and they would pay it because it happaned at work. Now that I am no longer employed by them they are refusing to pay the doctor's bill.

Is there anything I can do?

Re: Worker's Comp Cut

Dear Sir:

You need to file a Claim for Benefits with the Virginia Workers Compensation Commission. Call them request the Claim for Benefits form and file it with your medical bill and doctor's note. The Commission will then request a response from your employer's insurance company. Contact the Commission at http://www.vwc.state.va.
