My license was suspended for falling behind $30 on child support. As a deadbeat father who drives commercially for a living , I understand that this punishment of losing my livelihood is well deserved. Since it made no sense at all to the representative I spoke to at DCSS that this suspension took place , she kindly released me license. DMV hasn’t received this yet and I’m wondering if I’m legal to drive now that DCSS releases the license or do I need to wait an arbitrary number of days for DMV to process this license release. Is the license considered reinstated on the date DCSS orders the release or when DMV processes the “reissuance “ of said license? Good to have a legal precedent to back it up from the 9th circuit.

The DMV is its own separate system from the court and DCSS. You need to contact the DMV to determine the status of your license and reinstate through them. Nothing outside the DMV will automatically reinstate your drivers license.
