As of now, credit collections and a bank account levy may proceed where a judgment has been obtained. You may want to consider filing a claim of exemption if a bank levy is pursued against you, or possibly seeking bankruptcy protection and relief. Please remember: legal help is still available during this time if you want to explore all options about handling an aggressive creditor.

Best wishes

Unless the government passes some type of moratorium (which is being discussed for some types of debts, such as rent and credit cards, but may not apply to actions that occurred before), there is no ban on creditor actions simply because of the current situation. You'll have to double check the papers, radio news, social media, and ask your legislators.

Yes, I think a creditor could serve a bank levy during the shelter in place order.

Government funds may be protected by an exemption, depending on what they are.
