I live in Centre Country Pennsylvania and my daughter's dad lives in Dundalk Maryland. With the scare of coronavirus can I I reschedule court ordered visits during this state emergency. The dad asked since she is out of school that he would like a extended visit if possible. I feel it would be in the best interest that she stays home with me and we continue to only stay at home with no visitors.
Ms. Gray is correct. While there may be compelling or valid reasons to not follow the order, and while a judge may even agree with you if the other parent says you violated it, the safest course of action is almost always to follow the court order. Ideally the two of you would talk with your daughter's pediatrician (together) and determine the level of risk in continuing to participate in custody exchanges. It will be substantially easier to make changes or accommodations to the order if they're backed by medical recommendations.
If you cannot agree to amend the custody, then you would have to file a petition with the court. Currently, the courts are only open for emergency purposes. You may have to abide by the custody or he could file a contempt petition.
