do i have to notify the father of my child that i am changeing her last name? i got remarried two years ago and now want my daughter to have my new last name. her father hasn't been in her life for 4 years haven't heard or seen him. he does pay child support. do i have to notify him if so how e.i certified letter, post it in the news paper, text etc

Assuming that your daughter is a minor, if you are changing her name through the courts you will have to give him notice and an opportunity to object to the name change. If you are changing her name by common law right (does not involve court process) then you do not have to notify her father.
