My son daycare close last week . My job paid me and I didn’t have to use my pto(paid time off). This week I have started to use my pto. I work for a big company with Different departments. I know they said companies with 500 or less will be eligible under bill. I know my specific Department does not have more than 500. After this week should they be implementing the bill ? ( I read after 3/31 it should take affect). Thank you
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act goes into effect April 2. However, if your employer (not your department) has 500 employees or more, the Act does not apply. However, you are entitled to up to 14 days of paid COVID-19 related leave under New York law, in addition to your PTO.
