I had temporary guardianship of my grandchild after his mother died. Father contested and judge said the father's right was stronger than the child's best interests. Now after a little over a year with the father, the child is being neglected medically and emotionally abused as well as present during a domestic battery incident in which the girlfriend hit the father in the mouth. No charges were filed, but she was made to leave the residence they shared. Two weeks later he picked up and followed her to Oklahoma. Indiana is the state I am in. Is medical neglect, emotional abuse and the domestic battery enough for another emergency guardianship? Child protection services are involved in both states.
