I'm a teacher who got involved with an 18 yr old student a month before they graduated. Now that the student is out of the school can I still be accused of anything? Is it possible for the Board of Education to somehow take the issue to court if the student is of legal age and is now a graduate? Can they even do an investigation and subpoena phone/text records if the student was 18 during that last month of school?

There are separate issues: the first is age, andf that is statutory The other issue is school employment policy and that is teacher/student, and age is not all that relevent.

If neither of you are associated with the school any longer, I don't see what the problem would be, but if there is anything pending, stay away.
