Police ignored their duties

I have witnessed three occasions where city police ignored their enforcement duties of local and state noise pollution and vehicle code regulations. Even the state police told me that the city police should have enforced the state vehicle codes. I have emailed the mayor and the police chief about this but have received only excuses like they were called to more important situations. In addition, I filed a complaint with CALEPA, the state arm of the federal EPA, which oversees adoption of the Federal Noise Pollution Act of 1973. That was last November. They have not responded. I contacted an assemblyman. They contacted the police for clarification of their duties. He was told that they do enforce what I described. Then, I saw two police officers standing on the sidewalk, chatting, while they listened to a biker start his vehicle, which had no muffler. I drove by them and said the bike had no muffler. One of them responded, ''okay'' and did nothing. The motorcycle rode off, escaping local and state laws and disrupting the peace of the entire neighborhood. This motorcycle excessive noise problem occurs constantly and is affecting my health. What can I do about this? Moving to a different will not solve the problem.

My ex-girlfriend's uncle loaned us the

If an employee who has keys to a retail store, for the front doors, dropbox and safe and she decides not to come back to work and doesn't quit or turn in their keys, is their any legal action we can take in this matter? (This employee has the only keys to her dropbox which contains her $75 bank and we are unable to open it)

I am thankful for the answer to my question titled ''bylaws and zoning regulations'' and would like to ask if there is a way for myself to file these things and if there is a certain law that would tell me how to do this? I would opt for an attorney first and foremost, but my husband has recently had open heart surgery and I am in no postion to pay for one at present.

Is there a way to make the town I live in enforce their bylaws and zoning regulations with regard to certain individuals if they (the town) choose not to? As a taxpayer and resident of long standing, I feel the town is jeopardizing the health and safety of our neighborhood by not making a better effort to enforce the bylaws and zoning codes.

Administrative greivance hearing fixed

I had an adminstrative grievance hearing and recently found out that the same individual who authored my suspension also presided over my hearing and people were offered money to vote a certain way. Do these university administrative hearings fall under any federal regulations? Needless to say I did not prevail at my hearing

Parking Citation assessment

A local parking enforcement authority has assessed my tax return and notified the credit reporting company for failing to pay the fines. The citations were received by an ex-spouse who had sole possession of the vehicle per court documents. Do I have any civil remedies to force the agency to remove the negative information.

Expired Check

I found a check that I received from my college for cancelling one of my classes. The check was dated Jan 31, 2006 and said to expire in one year from date. Well, it's now Dec 2008. Are they still entitled to give me that money since I never deposited the check?

I am pregnant and have great difficulty walking. I can barely walk at all, and my doctor will sign disability paperwork at any time. Today, we got word that our entire office is closing and we are all laid off as of Jan 2. Which is better to collect -- disability or unemployment? I am not greedy; I am fearful of not having enough money for diapers. It is nearly impossible to reach anyone at either dept by phone who knows anything.......

Broken bone during basic training

My 20 year old son just joined the Army, he sustained a sprial fracture to his tibia during combat training on 12/9/08. He already had plans to be home for Christmas from the 18th to the 2nd of Jan. I'm sure we'll know in due time but I'm wondering where he will recover?? At home? On base? He won't be discharged, will he? We're both very worried about this.

Once the POA documents have been signed by both parties and notorized and dated. Is there anything else that needs to be done legally to ensure the POA will stand in the court of law if need be?
