Can an attorney fire the client

If an attorney takes a case on contingency can he later tell the client that he no longer will represent the client?

Re: Can an attorney fire the client

Of course. You can't make, nor do you want the lawyer do work that he no longer wants to do. The question is, should the lawyer be entitled to any payment? Perhaps the dollar value of his work. Try to get him to send you an accounting for the time he put into your case. Make sure to obtain your entire file to give to another attorney.
