child custody

I have been in and out of court trying to get my son back I had to file a ''motion for a new trial'' Today I went to court and was told that I filed it on time but the judge that granted the new trial did not grant it on time and bottom line the law for motion for new trials is it must be granted on time. I did my part but it wasn't enough and now they don't want to hear my case. Is there anything that can be done or am I really just out of luck?

Re: child custody

Unfortunately, this is one of the pitfalls of being pro-se. There are rigid deadlines. It is likely that your motion was overruled by operation of law. You may still have an avenue of appeal, if time has not expired. I strongly recommend you hire a lawyer immediately, before any more time passes.
