poa overriding a life insurance benificary

Will the power of attorney have any rights to a life insurance policy if not named as the benificeay?

No. BTW a power of attorney doesn't give you a "right" to any asset. It merely allows you to act on behalf of the grantor and in the grantor's best interest.
