Does a father when he has kids for an extended period for example 42 days in summer still have to pay child support for that period being that he will have to bear the full brunt of financial responsibilities for kids for that period.

Yes. Read your child support order. It doesn't say that child support stops during the 42-day visitation.

Supposedly, when the legislature figured out the formula for percentages for calculating child support, they figured in Dad's visitation periods when he would have the children.
