I got hired for a job at a college about a month ago. Yesterday, the school announced it would be closing down and is in a teach-out mode of operation. By 2018 (the latest, possibly earlier), the school will be shutdown entirely. I was not notified of any of this being a possibility during the hiring process, and I left a secure, full-time position in order to accept my current position. Is there any legal right I have over the school? Omitting this information that they most definitely knew about at the time of my hiring seems to be both unprofessional and unjust.

You are an employee at will. However, the school also need to act in good faith. If you can prove that they had notice of failure and failed to inform you of their status, you may have a bad faith claim, however 2018 seems far away and your job seems secure for now. You are not in imminent danger of losing your job, are you?
