My children attend a NYC non-public school. My 4th graders principal grabbed him by the arm, dragged him from the playground, down the stairs, into his office, where he was thrown against a wall then into a chair. When I found the principal, asking, did he need to touch my son to break up a fight, or to prevent someone from getting hurt, I was told, "your son was challenging me in front of other students and I was frustrated". He never apologized to my son. After that, every time something happened in his class, my son was the first to have to explain, even if he had nothing to do with it! THEN, after another boy started a fight, and my son hit back to get loose from his grip,,, MY SON was suspended!! This happened while there was NO TEACHER in the classroom! And still, after 6 weeks has not been allowed back to school. Do we have any legal options?

There is an appeal process for student suspensions and that may lead to a hearing in court of law.
