Travel within new York state while on county level probation

I plead guilty to an ''E'' Felony in

county court in Saratoga county within

new York state.

I received probation and one term

states I cannot leave the jurisdiction of

the court without permission of the

court or the probation department.

Does this mean that I can travel

around new York state at will or that I

need permission to leave Saratoga

county?

I was told by someone that a county

level court has jurisdiction throughout

the entire state...however when I had

an initial meeting with the probation

department they mentioned that

leaving Saratoga county was a

privilege and not a right.

I spoke to a lawyer who said that

although county courts have

jurisdiction throughout the state the

probation department could still

require me to remain within the

county. He said this is because

another probation condition stated I

had to follow the directions of the

probation department.

However these two conditions seem to

contradict themselves.

Your best bet and most exact answer will come from your probation officer.
