A judgement on the wrongful death suit,the judge declared that I won the case but my lawyer said that he didn't sign the papers yet.He had to resubmit a decree and I'm waiting for the lawyer to pick up the check.Is this true what my lawyer is saying or should seek legal counsel about the money should be getting?
Is your suit against a private party or a municipality. The latter take a very long time to issue settlement funds and you may also have to deal with surrogate's court.
