In LA Superior, do the court orders about covid-19 give 3 days, or 33 days, more time to answer a complaint?

Some courts have issued orders extending all pending dates and all proceedings. You need to check the order and read it carefully if there is one

What "court orders"? I am not aware of any order that has changed the time allowed to file a response to a complaint after service. Unless the plaintiff has granted an extension in writing, you should always file a responsive pleading within 30 days after service is complete. If the last day to respond falls on a weekend or court holiday, the time to respond is extended to the next business day. Courtroom closures do not necessarily mean the courthouse is closed.
