In eviction law suite in 7 days tenant filed an answer and did not file a counterclaim. Can this tenant after 10 days of receiving the Complaint file an amended counterclaims if he did not file any counterclaim in the 7 days?

The rules in magistrate court are not rigid and can vary from county to county, but I believe the tenant would be permitted to amend their answer as long as there was an answer filed within the seven day period.
