I had a DUI back in December I am in the ARD program and plan to apply for the interlock limited license. Why did I receive 2 license suspensions from the DMV? One of the letters said suspended for 1 year for driving while suspended 1543A. The other is the 2 month ARD program suspension. Does this mean I have 2 suspensions? If so am I still eligible for the ILL with the 1 year suspension? I need to get to work so if I would not be eligible for that would I be eligible for the restricted license or bread and butter occupational license? Would definitely prefer the ILL though.
Yes, it sounds like you have two suspensions - and PennDOT runs them consecutively, not concurrently (meaning 1 year + 2 months = 14 months suspension for you). Best way to confirm is to get your Restoration Rights Letter online at https://www.dot3e.penndot.gov/driver_services/dllogin.jsp. You can always get this 24/7 online, and you should check it every so often as a checklist for what you still have to accomplish to restore your driver's license in full.
I believe you're still eligible for an ILL. If in doubt, and the Restoration Rights Letter doesn't clear it up, contact PennDOT directly to inquire. It's a nightmare dealing with them, but they're the only game in town, unfortunately.
Best of luck to you.
