Several weeks ago at work I noticed I got some spots on my hands that looked like blood blisters. I showed different people, such as the HR person and was told " oh I get those too". Then they started to spread, it was under my skin they were not cuts or scratches. So my co workers saw how they were getting worse and moving up my arms and called another Hr person to come see them, in the mean time I also showed other people at work (office people). The HR person gave me bandaids and Hydrocortizone for them. They supplied me with this constantly. Seeing how this was not working and it seemed to spread on my body I went to the ER and was subscribed Permethrin cream, the doctor said it was scabies or something like it (did not diagnois as such but gave me education material for scabies). The cream cost me $17.00. Since this whole thing started at work I went in to HR after working the shift and asked them if they could help me with the cost of cream because I needed get a refill. When I went in the wanted to see all my papers from the hospital, I showed them they saw the paper about scabies and how highly contagious it was and told me I had to get a note from the particular doctor to say I could return and not be contagious. I told them it was just a paper to have for home care instructions and This started 3 weeks ago and I hadnt infected anyone so it cant be scabies!! They told me to go to kelly services and talk to them, I am a temp worker. They told me that i couldnt work until I get a doctors note from the same doctor I saw. When i went to the ER I was informed that they can not tell me if he was there. So now I am losing pay, both places are denying that I got in from the work place and are labeling me as being contagious when there is no evidence of me infecting anyone else. Do I have any recourse for my loss wages or medication costs.
