Do I need to leave the country before my J1 visa expires if my internship was terminated?

My internship was unexpectedly terminated due to coronavirus' negative effect on the hospitality business. Do I need to leave or can I stay until my visa expires? Also what would happen if I got married to my boyfriend before the 30 day period after the termination.
